CAD Call Types and Response Protocals
Admin
CAD CODE: Admin
Description: Used for staff when they are “in-service”, but performing admin duties where they want to limit interruptions.
Priority: 4
Basic Reroute: For priority 2 and above details, IF no other recourses are available.
Recommended Reports: None
Alarms
There are different types of alarms, for our operational we break these into two types. ‘Fire’ and ‘All Other’
Fire Alarms
CAD CODE: Alarm, Fire
Description: This is used for any kind of Fire Alarm, including, but not limited to: Water Flow Alarms, Manual Activated Fire Alarms, and Automated Fire Alarms.
Priority: 2 (Manual Fire Alarms), 3 (Water Flow and Automated)
Dispatch Protocol: 1 Patrol Lead (PTRL 3 or above, with IC 1 or above), with 2 additional Units, and advise Duty Officer
Response Protocols: Respond to scene, defer to Hotel Security/Personnel whenever possible. Evacuate if necessary.
Recommended Reports: None
All Other Alarms
CAD CODE: Alarm, All Other
Description: Used for all non-fire alarms, these include bugler alarms in Art and Dealer’s Room.
Priority: 2 (Manually Activated Alarm), 3 (Automated activation / trip)
Dispatch Protocol: Priority 2 – 1 Patrol Lead (PTRL 3 or above) with 1 backup patrol unit. Priority 3 – 1 Patrol (PTRL 1 or above), can have backup at Dispatcher’s discretion based on information.
Response Protocol: Respond to scene and check perimeter for unsecured access to room/location.
IF no access or sign of issue found, clear without further follow-up. IF access or activity is found, request another unit (if not already there) and request a Lead (if not already on site). Complete Reports IF damage, or loss of property

Area Checks
CAD CODE: Area Check
Description: Area checks are used to check a give area for activity also can be a directed area check for a specific activity, person, or subject.
Priority: 2 (looking for subject related to an in-progress detail) or 3 (all other)
Dispatch Protocol: 1 Patrol Volunteer or above (PTRL 1 or above), give specific instructions on what they are looking for.
Response Protocol: Check area for ______
Recommended Reports: None (in most cases)
Assists
There are 4 types of “assists” these are all where we are backing or support another related department or organization. An Example of this would be assisting Hotel Security with escorting someone off the grounds; another is where we are assisting the Norwescon Business Department with a money escort (SEE APPU manual for details)
Assist to Fire, Police, or other Public Safety Organization
CAD CODE: Assist, FD/PD
Description: We use this call type for anytime that our assistant is requested from a Public Safety Organization such as Police or the Fire Department.
Priority: X, 1, 2, or 3; Priority is set by the type of call they will be assisting on.
Dispatch Protocol: 1 Patrol Lead, additional resources based on call type and needs of the scene. Remember that if there is 12 Firefighter, then we do not nasally need a full response from us.
Response Protocol: Respond to scene, assist as necessary.
Recommended Reports: None
Assist to Hotel
CAD CODE: Assist, Hotel
Description: This call type is used when assisting the hotel a detail, this could be as simple as removing signage from a wall, or backing hotel on escorting someone off the grounds.
Priority: X, 1, 2, or 3; Priority is set by the type of call they will be assisting on.
Dispatch Protocol: Varies based on type of assist
Response Protocol: Varies based on type of call, whenever possible try to have a Patrol Lead (PTRL 3 or above) when dealing with the hotel.
Recommended Reports: None (in most cases)
Assist to other Norwescon Department
CAD CODE: Assist, Other Dept
Description: This is used when assisting another department that is not covered under another call types, examples would be escorting money (APPU) or something as simple as our Tech Section helping with an IT issue.
Priority: X, 1, 2, or 3; Priority is set by the type of call they will be assisting on.
Dispatch Protocol: Varies based on type of assist, see Asset Protection Details for Money Runs
Response Protocol: Varies based on type of assist, see Asset Protection Details for Money Runs
Recommended Reports: None (in most cases)
All Other Assist
CAD CODE: Assist, All Other
Description: This is when the above types of assists to not apply; this includes helping a ADA person locate a room, escorting someone back to their room, etc.
Priority: X, 1, 2, or 3; Priority is set by the type of call they will be assisting on.
Dispatch Protocol: Varies based on type of assist, see Personal Protection Details for info on that type of assist.
Response Protocol: Varies based on type of assist, see Personal Protection Details for info on that type of assist
